KrisKompass helps you prepare decisions

Preparedness is not only about what you keep at home.

It is also about understanding how far your resources will take you, what limitations your household faces and what you can do when the systems you normally rely on stop working as expected.

KrisKompass helps you build that picture – and use it to prepare decisions before they become urgent.

1. Understand your circumstances

Start with your household and what you actually have to work with.

KrisKompass helps you build an overview across areas such as water, food, heat and energy, hygiene, information, care needs and your ability to move from one place to another.

The aim is not to document everything perfectly. It is to create a sufficiently good basis for thinking ahead.

2. Understand what it means

Having something is not the same as knowing what it means for you.

How long will your water last? What happens if your home gets cold? Does something about your household make a particular solution less useful? Which people and places do you depend on?

KrisKompass helps make both existing strengths and areas that deserve more thought visible.

3. Prepare what can be prepared

Not every decision can be made in advance. Some, however, become much easier if you have already considered them.

If your household might need to leave home, for example, you can prepare what to bring, what needs to be done and which places might be relevant.

The plan remains available until you need it.

4. Practise when there is no obvious answer

Real disruptions rarely provide all the information you would like to have.

KrisKompass lets you encounter situations where circumstances change and different courses of action involve both advantages and disadvantages.

It does not give you a correct answer afterwards.

The purpose is to practise seeing the situation, assessing information, making a decision and reconsidering it when circumstances change.

5. Use the plan when you need it

Preparation matters when it can actually be used.

A prepared plan for leaving home can therefore become a practical step-by-step checklist, helping you pack, complete necessary actions and see what remains.

KrisKompass should not make the decision for you. It should help you maintain an overview when you need to make that decision yourself.

Prepared does not mean perfect

KrisKompass uses the 70 percent principle.

You do not need to anticipate every future problem, own every conceivable piece of equipment or create a plan for every possible situation.

A sufficiently good understanding of your circumstances, a few considered options and the ability to adapt when reality changes can be far more useful.
